Shama Ekamai Bangkok
We stayed at Shama Ekkamai for 8 months in a 3-bedroom apartment, and overall had a mixed but generally positive experience.
The apartment size is excellent and very comfortable for a family of 4 adults and 2 children. The location is a big win — right behind Big C Ekkamai and about a 15-minute walk to BTS Ekkamai and Gateway Mall.
A special mention to Jai, the Building Manager, who has been outstanding. She is kind, responsive, and very professional, and any issues were usually resolved within 24–72 hours. The maintenance team is also excellent and very reliable.
For a property with a well-known brand like Shama, we expected better support. Although Shama is labeled as a serviced apartment, services such as breakfast, housekeeping, and linen changes are not provided. Moving in and out was also difficult as no trolleys or carts are available.
Unfortunately, our experience with daytime security was not pleasant. The attitude was often unfriendly, and we were asked to take on tasks that should be handled by security. For example, to use the basement for drop offs, we were asked to roll down our windows to inform the guard ourselves. There is no automatic security barrier at the main gate, and instead of the security checking with incoming drivers, we were expected to inform them each time. As foreigners, this was particularly inconvenient when using Grab or Bolt drivers who may not speak English well. In most condominiums, this communication is handled directly between the driver and security, not the tenant.
In addition, package delivery security is a concern. All delivered items are placed out in the open on a table outside the lobby, which is the designated delivery area. Unfortunately, there are no security measures in place to safeguard parcels, making theft a real concern for tenants.
We also lived across the pool, and the lack of a sheltered walkway made rainy days challenging, especially with young children.
Moreover, the windows are not soundproof. Almost every weekday after 3pm and on weekends, there was significant noise from children at the pool, with little management intervention.
Overall, Shama Ekkamai offers great space, an excellent location, and strong maintenance support, making it suitable for large families. With better security procedures and clearer serviced-apartment standards, the experience could be much improved.
